Big Common Button Polyps are colorful polyps that are great for novice coral keepers. Colors are usually shades of green or brown, but can range to orange, yellow, and even pink. These polyps are semi-aggressive, so make sure they are spaced away form other corals. With good water conditions, these polyps will multiply, spread, and sometimes overcrowd the corals beside it. In this case, simply divide the colony and start a new one. They're carnivores that like to eat Mysis shrimp and microplankton. When handling this coral, it is best to wear gloves to protect your skin form the toxin that they produce. Trace elements like Iodine make excellent supplements. A feeding of coral food will keep these polyps happy and growing.
