The Green Hammer Branch Coral is an aggressive species from the Indo-Pacific region that must be kept at least six inches from other species within the tank, as its sweeper tentacles spread out at night, and will sting tank mates if they are nearby. This species is a LPS (large polyp stony coral). It gets it name from the end of its tentacles that resemble little hammers. There is a branching and non branching variety. Both are very similar, but the branching variety resembles Torch Coral. Trace elements like strontium and calcium make excellent supplements for a recommended diet of brine shrimp and microplankton.
