The Hagen Fluval 1 Plus submersible filter can be used in fresh and salt water aquariums as well as reptile habitats. The filter is easy to use, quiet, and efficient. It also works well as a water polisher when finer filter material is used.
The unique double filter cartridge comes with two foam pads which allow for alternating replacement. Staggering replacement allows for continuous biological filter activity. The filter cartridge also has a designated area for optional media such as Polyester Filter Pads or Special Carbon Filter Pads (not included). The added flexibility of using denser filter pad material allows for finer particulate removal so that you can polish your water not just filter it. The filter also features a clogging indicator that will indicate when the filter media needs to be maintained.
The swivel spout allows you to direct the flow output in the aquarium eliminating problem flow “dead spots”. The adjustable flow option allows you to accommodate multiple feeding and special environmental needs for aquarium inhabitants. The air flow control device is also included to create a Venturi Effect for added aeration. This filter is specially designed to sit vertically or horizontally.
