This Assorted Hermit Crab will be one of the many species that are suitable for your saltwater aquarium, but not recommended for reefs. Crabs can grow up to 3 inches. Because they do not make their own shell, be sure to have a selection of larger sized empty shells available for the crab to move into as it molts and grows. They will eat mollusks, tube worms, algae, plants, and detritus in your system. It is recommended to place one to two crabs per gallon of water in you tank. These crabs are not reef safe but fine for a fish-only aquarium. Drip acclimation is recommended for all inverts to avoid rapid changes in water chemistry. Copper based medications can be fatal for inverts.
