The Long Tentacle Anemone of the Actiniidae family is from the Indo-Pacific region. Its oral disc, or base, can grow up to 20 inches, making this anemone pretty impressive in a large aquarium. It is also referred to as the Cork Screw or Sand Anemone and its tentacles will twist into a cool looking spiral. It prefers a deep sand bed or a minimum of 4 inches of coral rubble to bury its foot deeply. Once situated and happy, it will stay put for a very long time. Small pieces of fish, mussels, crustaceans and frozen foods would be good diet choices. This Anemone is usually host to a clownfish. Drip acclimation is recommended for all inverts to avoid rapid changes in water chemistry. Copper based medications can be fatal for inverts.
