Sand Boost^TM is 100% organic. The formulation is designed to promote sub microscopic creatures that live within the aggregate pores. These nanoscopic creatures are essential for many reasons. However, the prime mission is to enhance the beginning of the food chain within the aquarium substrate for both plants and animals. Sand Boost^TM ingredients make the surrounding area of the sand aggregate more amenable for reproduction.  The pores of a quality substrate range in size and have colonies of various inhabitants. This condition will potentially promote varying degrees of microscopic creatures. The more species of beneficial creatures available to the aquarium, the healthier the aquarium becomes. This is accomplished simply by helping to promote more food selection potentials such as yeasts, microalgaes and mollusks (sub scale) which provide increased nutrition. Remember that these organisms do not just stay in the substrate; they will travel throughout the tank. As they travel, their natural predators will take advantage of the migratory situation.
