We have this hood system on our standard 29 gallon and have a persistant problem with water condensing on the under side of the hood and running down the back of the tank.

Have owned this product for 7 years with no problems. Fantastic system without the headache and eyesore of a hanging filter

The Marineland Eclipse System 3 hood is an excellent product. Ive used the Eclipse 1 and Eclipse 2, in the past, for marine fish with excellent results. Having experience with a 55g marine tank that I sold 2 years ago- with the following setup: Euroreef skimmer, refugium, Icecap VHO lighting, and sump- I can say that the Eclipse system is a very good alternative to the more expensive systems as mentioned above. The Eclipse system IS very easy to maintain. Cleaning is simple and fast- everything is done by lifting the lids which are very light- unlike the typical heavy wooden lighting hoods on most aquariums. The filter, bio-wheel and lights are easily accessible. All thats needed to maintain this system is changing the filter about once a month. And, cleaning the light protective housing every other week. To feed the fish, all you need to do is lift the front lid and drop the food. Add a $4.00 timer, and you can leave the lights on and the timer takes control of turning them on and off. The overall design is very ergonomical. Plastic is of high quality. Everything is concealed under the hood.
I just purchased this hood system because I want to build a 37 gallon saltwater tank. I will be using an acrylic tank- specially made for the Eclipse system. I found this hood on several online stores but fish.com had it at the lowest price. I wasnt too sure about purchasing it here, since I couldnt find much information ratings for the store. But, I went ahead and made the purchase. Only having to pay $0.99 for shipping made me even more wary and nervous! Just to make sure that the purchase was ok, I decided to call and confirm my purchase. Support was excellent and confirmed the sale. I also received several email regarding the progress of shipping status- you can also check this on the website. I got a tracking number via email, too. You can check FedEx status through the fish.com site.
I received my Eclipse system without a problem. I am definitely going to check this website for other things I might need.
Bottom line:
For Eclipse System- Superior craftsmanship, Made in the USA. Super-easy to install. Very silent. And, most important, really easy to maintain!
For Fish.com- Best price, Excellent service, and great shipping progress via website! Highly recommended.
PS- If you buy and enjoy your purchasing experience, go to www.resellerratings.com and rate the site. I found them under dog.com and left a rating for this store. This might give potential customers assurance to buy at fish.com!

I have canister filters for one tank and I have this hood on another. This works great for the smaller tanks they are designed for and keeps them cleaner, longer. To change the filter, lift the hood and replace filter 5 seconds and done. Highly recommended for both esthetics and convenience.

Very convenient. I dont know if the other person just got a bad item or what, but my dormmates and I all love the eclipse hood. Its an awesome system, and it makes life a lot easier. You dont need to have anything in your tank except this hood and a heater. The water dropping from the bio wheel into the tank creates enough bubbles for the fish. P.s. This site has the cheapest price for this hood so far! BUY IT!!!

the light worked on this for a week. i tried to fix it many times and it never worked. its noisey , sounds like water dripping no matter how much water is in the tank. its horrible to clean because of alll the crevices and taking it apart. it gets MOLDY often so you have to clean it alot. piece of crap.
