have been using this product in my 35 gallon all glass bow front fresh water aquarium for over six months. Keeps temp consistant with LESS than a 1 degree variation. Would recommend and intend on buying one for my 10 gallon, 55 gallon and 75 gallon tanks!

Little heat power, 10/31/2008

I bought a 100W thermostat for my 37.5 gallon tank and a 50W one for my 8.8 gallon tank. According to the chart they should work fine for both tanks. Well, to keep my aquariums at 80.6°F I had to increase the temperature of the thermostat up to 89°F in my small tank and it has kept my desired temperature for 4 days. But in my bigger aquarium I never got that temperature eventhough I programmed it to its highest power increasing it day bay day. It only warmed the water up to 77°F so I had to use my old 300W thermostat again. If according to the chart you need a 50W thermostat, get a 100W and so on. Although you can adjust the desired temperature and read it easily, it´s not very easy to turn the knob to readjust it once it is inside the tank you will need both hands because the whole thing spins around. Its holder has 3 spaces so that you can see all its features from any angle, but there will always be one that you will not be able to see no matter how you place it.
