The Snowflake Eel, from the family Muraenidae, is from the Indo-Pacific region and Hawaii. This is a beautiful animal with markings that resemble snowflakes. It needs lots of space to hide during the day and will come out for feedings. This Moray Eel is a nocturnal hunter known for its ability to escape so a tightly sealed tank is an absolute essential. It will eat crustaceans and any small fish it can swallow, but will stay away from most corals and anemones. A good diet will include frozen and freeze-dried krill, fish, shrimp and most meaty foods. It may learn to be fed by hand, but the handler should remember it can bite!
