Whisper AP Air Pump
The Whisper AP Air Pump is a powerful and silent air pump designed for deep water applications that have lots of back pressure. This aquarium kit is suited for long decorator air stones, multiple air stones and protein skimmers for salt water. It generates powerful currents of air to oxygenate your large aquarium. This mighty pump not pumps enough air to run a multiple devices like a bubble disk, and a bubble wand, but it does so with so much power that you may have to set your splitter to only 3/4 power! And, as amazing as it may seem, it does all this - silently! It is also long lasting. Its tremendous power can drive multiple air stones and other air-driven devices in one or more aquariums.

Two Ways to Install Your Deep Water Air Pump. Place the Tetratec Deep Water aquarium air pump on a surface lower than the water level of the aquarium or on the floor. To avoid damage from accidentally spilled water, do not place the air pump directly below the aquarium. Important: Always use a Whisper Check Valve in the airline between the air pump and the aquarium. In the event of a power failure, or when removing filters from the aquarium, the Check Valve will help prevent water from siphoning into the pump.
Place the Tetratec Deep Water aquarium air pump on a shelf at least 12 inches higher than the water level of the aquarium, but not directly above the aquarium. The shelf should have a raise edge to prevent the air pump from sliding off.
Note: For use with saltwater aquariums, place the air pump on a shelf as described in option 2, and use a Whisper Check Valve.
Customizing Your Installation with Whisper Valves
Your air pump is powerful as well as quiet. Depending on the size and depth of your aquarium(s), you can power several airstone and filtering devices with one air pump. You can customize the installation by routing air from the air pump to different tanks, filters, airstone, and air operated ornaments.
Directions: Plug into 110/120V Ac outlet only. Be sure to allow for a "Drip Loop" (part of the cord that dips below outlet receptacle or connector). The "Drip Loop" prevents water from running into outlet.
Attach one end of airline tubing to air outlet(s) on your Tetratec Deep Water air pump. Attach other end of airline tubing to filter(s), airstone(s), or air operated ornament(s). Pump is now ready to plug in.
Pump reaches normal operating efficiency after several hours.
Replace the air stone in your filter(s) regularly, you do not have to be concerned about loss of air due to clogged air stone. Loss of air pumping action is most often caused by a clogged air stone. Check your air stone by sucking a small amount of water into the air stone. If you cannot blow it back through, neither can your pump.
